Altium Significantly Reduces Entry Point for 8051 Embedded Developers
Altium's TASKING 8051 toolset (currently US$1,790) will be repriced at US$795 from March 1st
SYDNEY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 2002--
Altium Limited (ASX: ALU), a leading developer of Windows-based
electronic design and development software, is pleased to announce a
significant price reduction for their TASKING 8051 Software
Development Toolsets. From March 1, 2002, the regular retail price for
a TASKING 8051 toolset will be reduced from US$1,790 to just US$795 -
a saving of nearly US$1,000. This new pricing emphasizes Altium's
commitment to providing every electronic designer and developer with
access to the best possible tools at an affordable price.
"By repricing our 8051 toolsets so significantly, we are lowering
the entry point for 8051 embedded developers by providing them with a
fully functional, professional embedded software development toolset
for under US$800," says Bruce Edwards, Executive Director, Altium.
"The 8051 is a versatile and widely-used architecture and the TASKING
8051 toolset gives developers everything they need to produce tight,
fast, and reliable code for today's demanding embedded applications."
The TASKING 8051 toolset supports more 8051 variants than any
other toolset in the market, and includes:
- The award winning TASKING fully integrated Embedded Development
Environment (EDE)
- ANSI C compiler, with additional MISRA C code checking
- Assembler with Macro Preprocessor and linker/locator
- Full ANSI C library set
- CrossView Pro debugger supporting two execution environments:
1. Instruction set simulator
2. Retargetable ROM monitor (incl. RISM51 support) for evaluation
board and custom hardware

With the new pricing for the TASKING 8051 toolset, Altium

advancement by giving embedded designers access to the best value and
the best technology in the industry.
